Seventh Annual Warhawk Triathlon set for March 17
Residents ready to test their physical strength and endurance will want to join in the Seventh Annual Warhawk Triathlon on Saturday, March 17, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Lake C. Oxford Natatorium and finishing in the Grove.
ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥'s Second Annual Warhawk Youth Triathlon will also take place, beginning at 10 a.m.
The Warhawk Youth Triathlon developed by request of interested youths, as well as by past Warhawk Triathlon participants.
The competitive event, for both adults and children, includes a 400-meter indoor pool swim, an 11-mile bike ride and a three-mile run.
The youth triathlon distances vary based on age:
- 5-6 year olds will do a 25-meter swim, a 2-kilometer bike run, a .5-kilometer run;
- 7-10 year olds will do a 100-meter swim, a 5-kilometer bike run, a 1-kilometer run; and
- 11-15 year olds will do a 200-meter swim, a 10-kilometer bike run, and 2-kilometer run.
