ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ to host free dance workshops Feb. 16 and March 9

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Dance Department will feature free master classes from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 16 and Saturday, March 9.

The classes are free and open to all ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ students and local high school juniors and seniors. The classes will focus on ballet and modern dance.

Dancers are advised to wear clothing that provides unrestricted movement. Dance clothes are preferred. For ballet, students should wear ballet slippers or socks.

Modern dance class students wear no shoes. For both classes, students should remove excessive jewelry and tie hair away from the face.

The featured instructed styles will be tap and African dance.

Robin Stephens, associate professor of dance at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥, and Tina Mullone, assistant professor of dance at ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥, will instruct both classes.
