Program Requirements Ìý

Regular Admission

Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree from a college or university accredited and recognized at the institutional level by the US Department of Education (USDOE) with a minimum overall GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scaleÌýorÌýa 2.75 GPA on the last 60 hours of attempted coursework to beÌýregularly admitted.
or
Applicants who have earned any graduate or terminal degree from a from a college or university accredited and recognized at the institutional level by the US Department of Education (USDOE) will qualify forÌýregularÌýadmission to a master’s program provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.
and
18 hours of prior undergraduate English courses (12 upper level, 6 lower level) with a 3.0 grade point average.

Conditional Admission

Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree from a college or university accredited and recognized at the institutional level by the US Department of Education (USDOE) with a minimum overall GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scaleÌýorÌýa 2.50 GPA on the last 60 hours of attempted coursework to beÌýconditionally admitted.
or
minimum formula score of GPA (either cumulative or last 60 hours) x GRE (Q+V) = 622.6Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý
and
18 hours of prior undergraduate English courses (12 upper level, 6 lower level) with a 3.0 grade point average.

Highly qualified applicants from other disciplines will be considered with the submission of a 10-page writing sample.

Applicants who have not satisfied the requirement for 6 hours of intermediate-level foreign language will be conditionally admitted until deficiencies are completed.
