ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ music students selected for intercollegiate honor band

Eight University of Louisiana at Monroe music students recently participated in the 2014 Louisiana Intercollegiate Band (ICB), sponsored by the state chapter of the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA).

The band assembled at host campus McNeese State University, Jan. 17-19, for rehearsals and a concert.

The ICB combines student musicians from Louisiana university band programs whose directors are members of the CBDNA.

Frank Wickes, retired director of bands from Louisiana State University served as conductor of the ensemble.

The eight ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ students who participated are: Brian Bass of West Monroe (percussion); Yoddit Esayas of Mesquite, Texas (French horn); Alex Heikkila of Russellville, Ark., (trumpet); Chad Hendricks of Monroe (tuba); Tyler McGaugh of Monroe (French horn); Elizabeth Neuberger of Madison, Wisc., (Euphonium); Sean O’Pry of Pineville (alto saxophone); and Jason Smith of West Monroe (trumpet).

The ICB was comprised of students from the University of Louisiana at Monroe; Louisiana State University; Louisiana Tech University; Loyola University (New Orleans); McNeese State University; Nicholls State University; Northwestern State University; Southeastern Louisiana University; Tulane University; University of Louisiana at Lafayette; and the University of New Orleans.
