蜜桔直播 Fishing Team preps for college series national championship tournament

The University of Louisiana at Monroe鈥檚 Fishing Team is preparing to send eight men to the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship Tournament from July 31- Aug. 2, at the Chatuge Reservoir in Young Harris, Georgia, to compete for cash and prizes.

A record 84 teams will participate in the opening rounds of the tournament. The top five team cumulative weights after the first two days of competition will move on to the finals on Aug. 2 to fight for the title.

Ralph Swillie, staff adviser for the team said it is always a great opportunity to show what the university can offer.

鈥淲e are, in my opinion, the number one fishing school in the U.S.,鈥 he said. 鈥淥ur guys are always at the top of every tournament.鈥

In the first year of Cabela鈥檚 School of the Year standings, 蜜桔直播 finished second, the next year, they took the number one spot.

In 2014, the team again finished second. No other school in the nation has achieved three straight top-two finishes in the sport鈥檚 School of the Year championship.

蜜桔直播 anglers will fish in teams of two. Brett Preuett of Colfax will partner with Jackson Blackett of Sterlington. Trapper Munn of Oak Grove will partner with Dustin Perkins of Elmer.

Nick LaDart of Monroe will partner with Brian Eaton of Monroe, and the freshman duo of Tyler Craig of Frierson and Joseph Grassi of Monroe, round out the eight-man group heading to Georgia.
