Campus Safety Advisory, March 11

Published March 11, 2016

Even though the rain has slacked off as of Friday evening, flooding will continue to be the focal point over the next couple of days in Ouachita parish, as more rain is forecasted. The University Police and Physical Plant are closely monitoring the situation around the clock and are prepared to act in the event of flooding.

Those in and around campus should stay out of affected areas. Swimming, sightseeing, and walking around the flooded Bayou are strongly discouraged. There are holes under the water, swift currents in some areas, snakes and other animals coming onto higher ground, and unstable surfaces. Motorists are asked to avoid driving on flooded roads.

For campus emergencies and reports of flooding, please contact the University Police at 318-342-5350.
