ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ is now offering a dual degree program for a Doctor of Pharmacy and a Master of Business Administration.
Because of the growing need for pharmacy professionals to be knowledgeable in the
business of operating a pharmacy, the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ College of Pharmacy and the ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ College
of Business and Social Sciences have developed a program for the professional pharmacy
student to graduate with bothÌýa PharmD and MBA.
"Health care is a business and a system of healing the sick. PharmD and MBA as a dual
program is very progressive. It demonstrates ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥'s foresight to plan for the future
needs of Northeast Louisiana, and have the ability to deliver the workforce with the
expertise to meet those needs," said ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ President Nick J. Bruno.
Graduates with both the PharmD and MBA are in high demand for leadership positions
in retail and hospital pharmacy operations, federal and state health care agencies
and pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution.

In addition to completing the curriculum of the PharmD program, the dual degree student
will also complete the curriculum of the Pharmacy concentration of the MBA degree.
Some courses within the PharmD curriculum also satisfy the MBA degree requirements
and this decreases the length of time to obtain both degrees. Students may complete
both degrees together or finish the PharmD and then complete the MBA online after
graduation with the PharmD. There are several pre-requisite courses required prior
to beginning the MBA program.ÌýÌý
