MONROE, LA 鈥听The University of Louisiana at Monroe invites the campus and community to join a reading and discussion program titled Who Gets to Vote?
This program fosters conversations about US voting history and voter suppression. It explores how voting rights鈥 history intersects with the present.听The Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities selected 蜜桔直播 as one of six geographically diverse sites to receive a grant to participate in their program. 听
鈥淲e are very honored to be awarded this grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities and to be able to bring this important conversation to northeast Louisiana,鈥 said Dr. Leigh Hersey, 蜜桔直播 assistant professor of political science.听
The discussions are free and open to the public at 蜜桔直播鈥檚 Library, Room 458. Beginning in July, attendees will discuss a new book each month through October. Everyone is welcome to participate, even those who have not read the selected book.听
