Dear students,

These past few months 蜜桔直播 students, faculty, and staff have met the challenges presented by COVID-19 with resilience and determination. We finished out the spring semester strong with the largest graduating class in 蜜桔直播鈥檚 history.

Our top priority is the health and safety of our campus community, and protocols have been implemented to ensure proper precautions are taken as faculty, staff, and students return to campus.

Health and Safety Precautions

Custodial staff have been deep cleaning and disinfecting all buildings on campus. They will continue to diligently clean offices, workspaces, and residence halls according to CDC protocols, along with more frequent cleaning and disinfecting of 鈥渉igh touch鈥 surfaces like countertops and doorknobs.

Plexiglass shields will be placed in high traffic areas such as the dining hall and Student Union Building.

Instructional methods and classroom space

We are planning on resuming face-to-face courses for the fall 2020 semester, which begins on Monday, August 17.

Large sections of courses will remain online. Larger classroom spaces on campus will be utilized to ensure social distancing can be safely practiced. Students are encouraged to wear a mask when meeting in group settings.

Campus buildings

The Activity Center (limited activity), Bayou Pointe, The Terrace and SUB event venues will begin operations with reduced hours Wednesday, June 10th. Check their websites for available hours. Health and safety protocols will be implemented at these facilities.

Students and visitors will be allowed back to campus on聽July 1.聽The聽University Library will resume normal hours on July 1 -聽Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 5:30pm, and Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm.

In closing

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this uncertain time. This situation continues to evolve, and the university will adapt if COVID-19 cases in Louisiana increase or if it is recommended by the state government or the Louisiana Department of Health.

It is with your cooperation that we can successfully return to on-campus operations safely.
