The Opportunity Fund will assist students, faculty, and staff in generating positive change in the University and regional communities.
President Ronald Berry, joined by his wife, Dr. Christine Berry, started the fund with a personal commitment of $100,000.
It will be a flexible fund to support a wide variety of activities not typically funded through individual colleges or specific departments. We want to remove obstacles for peopleÌý³¦°ù±ð²¹³Ù¾±²Ô²µÌýlife changing opportunitiesÌýfor others.
A committee comprised of faculty and staff will annually evaluate proposals from ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ faculty, staff, and students to make funding selections. Applications for the Fall 2024 funding cycle will open on September 18th and close on October 23rd. Information on prior awardees, project topics, and amounts awarded can be accessed here. Examples of potential funding include but are in no way limited to:
• Programs that improve diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Programs that connect the regional community to ÃÛ½ÛÖ±²¥ as a source of service, knowledge, or researchÌý
• ProgramsÌýthat develop leadershipÌýfor faculty, staff,Ìýstudents, or segments of the communityÌý
